We are in essex county. Do you know any restaurants or places to go. We know of Outback, Fresh City, Legal Seafoods and the places in Bergen County. Our daughter is gluten intolerant -- do you know of any kids around here with celiac?

We do not go to restaurants..too much risk.
I don't have children so I don't know about groups....there might be a ROCK group in Livingston area.
If can, call the Celic Sprue Assn at 877-CSA-4CSA. Ask them about Raising Our Celiac Children in your area; as far as I know, there are no support groups for adults in our area ( I am in northern Union County). There used to be one in Morris County and they disbanded; there's one in the New Brunswick area and to get there for 7 PM is a haul during rush hour, if you know what I mean. I know the CSA is looking for someone to start a group in the Essex/Union county area; I'd love to do it, but I do not have the room in my apartment for a grouping of people to meet as I am living in basically two rooms. My place always looks like a "jumble sale."

A new group just formed in Morristown (http://celiacdisease.meetup.com/89/) Not sure how far that is for everyone.

There is also one up in Bergen County (http://celiacdisease.meetup.com/49).

TRANSPORTATION
As we have done in the past, we will be attempting to coordinate transportation options so that anyone who wants to come will have a way to get there!

For those coming from NYC, we're going to meet at a central Jersey City collection point (see address below) at 10:30AM near the Grove St PATH station in Jersey City. From there we will be driving to the Gluten Free Market together. Anyone who has wheels and plans to drive to the event, and is interested in inviting a few friends into their cars, please let me know so I can coordinate carpooling. We may also rent a small van or bus to bring people if there aren't enough carpoolers available. Transportation home will be to the Jersey City collection Point (or possibly to the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal with ferries going to Manhattan).

For those driving directly there, we'll see you at the Gluten Free Market at 12:00PM!! Please let me know if you need directions.
