I was diagnossed about 7 mths ago and i'm still struggling with the new diet
. Some days are really good and i hardly think about it and then i have a bad day and it feels like going back to square one
. I've been in NZ for about 15mths and found out i was celiac whilst i was over here and pretty much dealt with it on my own with a lot of help from the internet. The celiac NZ is a good resource and friends/colleagues try their best. I'm heading back to the UK for a holiday via Tokyo for two nights (should be interesting
) and it will be an eye opener to see the differances and to see how my parents react to my new diet
This forum is so informative, i learn new things every time i come on here, who would have thought celiacs would have to deal with so much. So many of my symptoms/illnesses from my past make sense now!
I've just realised recently that cosmetics are making my skin really itchy, does anyone know of any products in NZ which are gluten-free? I'm using Treseme and clinque at the moment and i'm sure they aren't gluten-free.
Anyway it will be good to hear from New Zealanders and their experiences, tips, brands they use etc, cheers Julie
