Thanks to mamma goose,

Tried RiRa's in Portland (next to the ferry terminal), and it's hard to say which was more fantastic, the food or the staff, and the view wasn't half bad. My 10 year old and wife each had pan seared duck in a dried cranberry glaze, I had proscutto (sp?) wrapped halibut. Also offered gluten-free was a salmon and seafood sauce, and a vegetarian grilled polenta, shitaki mushroom dish along with the usual steaks. They are happy to accomodate you and well trained. This is the first 'real' restaurant we've been to in years, and will definately return.
Also noticed a flatbread pizza next to RiRa's, the one in Portsmouth offers a gluten-free pizza if you can believe it, and the Portsmouth staff is well versed with the gluten-free issue, maybe give Portland's store a quick call to see if they offer the same.

I was drooling at your menu description. I'm glad you have a wonderful "event".

I must admit the best restaurant in Maine is about 20 minutes north of Portland in Freeport. Haraseekett Lunch and Lobster is the best. Open seasonally, you dine on picnic tables and watch the lobstermen work and the seals play.

I have no financial intererst in this restaurant, but I feel that I have over the many, many years that my family and I have enjoyed it. tongue.gif
