Rafferty's Restaurant is holding a meeting May 30th at 7pm at their restaurant in North Conway, NH. They are supposed to be having different speakers including a doctor, plus gluten free food samples and other product displays. They have also invited the surrounding area support groups to come. I am hoping (and so are they) that a White Mountain area support group starts up because of this! Would be nice to have one close by. So come on by if you are around. Just off RT16 on Kearsarge street in N. Conway.

I know this was posted back in May, I hope your turn out went well. I googled support groups in nh and there is one in nashua which is kind of close by. I will be in contact with them soon as they respond. I am curious if anyone in the Manchester area has attempted this? Do they have any meetings in the Manchester even Nashua area? Anyone know?

Hi, I read your post and hope you can generate some interest in a local support group. I am not aware of any organized group in the Manchester area. By the wide availability of gluten free food I surmise there must be plenty of celiacs in the area! I have heard that the Healthy Villi group in the Boston area is quite active and a great resource, if you dont mind the travel.

This board has been a great source of information but I hear from all different kinds of people in the community about gluten free resources, restaurants and shops which stock those off beat things you just can't live without as a celiac. I would be happy to share info with you.

I live in Manchester and I have been told that there are groups in Merrimack and Keene:

CSA Southern NH Celiac Support Group 80
Affiliation: Celiac Sprue Association
Merrimack, New Hampshire
Contact(s):
Maureen Shelley (Merrimack)
phone: 1 603-429-1228

I googled for Keene info but didn't get any hits!
I personally haven't gone - but have met a couple of people that enjoy the meetings in Merrimack! I think they're held once a month, and it's a pot luck type of event.

Ehrin,

Would you (or anyone else who reads these posts) be interested in a group that meets in Manchester? I have no desire to travel to Merrimack, Nashua or Keene where I know other groups are currently meeting but might be able to free up some time for a meeting here in Manchester.

As a nurse, I have lots of resources available to me and meet lots of Celiac patients through my work. I haven't felt the need to join a group but I am sure there are many more resources locally than I have heard about.

I would be interested in hearing about good dining out experiences that other celiacs have had in the Manchester area. The last time I was at the Outback in Bedford there were not enough Gluten free menus to go around! We are definitely not alone and the restaurant community wants our business.

I live in Derry and would be interested in any support groups in the area.

I also want to say that I have eaten At Cotton in Manchester NH and if you ask about any particular meal, they will take the time to check the ingredients and let you know if what you would like to order is Gluten free. They will also make substitutions upon request.
