I've read about this newsletter or magazine. Does anyone here subscribe, and if so, what do you think of it? I am having a very hard time getting past the incredibly negative title...

I subscribe and it's an excellent magazine. Many recipes and resources for gluten-free foods and products are included. I didn't find it a negative title at all....you are only living without wheat, barley and rye yet they show you all the foods and flours you can live with. We have many more choices we can make available to us for use instead of just wheat and it makes for delicious eating!

Don't let the title get you discouraged...the articles, receipes and even advertisements are worth the subscription. This magazine also addresses living without other food allergens (peanut, etc.) so it's not entirely for the gluten free crowd.

I don't subscribe, but I do buy it at the health food store when I get a chance. It is a great resource for new recipes and ideas. The pictures are great eye candy, too. I am putting a subscription on my Christmas list this year. smile.gif Our library has a subscription. Maybe yours does too. If so, you could check out a few copies and see if it is a fit for you.

I don't have a problem with the title. It is, after all, "LIVING without", not "DOING without". I think it is very possible to have a wonderful, full life without gluten.

Its a shame Martha Stewart has cw on "Living"
It would be a much better and more appropriate title

Thanks everyone for their replies. I will see if I can find a copy. (I looked at the website and there is not a distributor where I live).

I agree that it is possible to have a full and satisfying life after being diagnosed with Celiac. It would just be so much better to have it entitled "Living Free" or some such. Without has dreadful connotations for me, without hope, without joy, without money, without time. The only possible without combination I can think of is without debt. biggrin.gif That'll be the day!

They could always add other words:

Living Without Running to the Bathroom
Living Without Toxic Bodily Emissions
Living Without Drama
Living Without Keeping Pepoto in Business

I agree and selfishly I wish it was only for the topic of gluten free. But that's just me...

If it's not sold out, Whole Foods stores sells it. You have to time it when the issue first comes out. You may want to inquire at a Barnes & Noble too
