I believe I've had a snooping friend and to make a long story short, I need to delete my account and all of its posts...is there a way to do that?

You can't do it yourself, and neither can the moderators. You need to PM Scott (admin), and ask him to delete your account and posts for you.

I am a moderator on the board. I am responding to your deletion request.

You can go to any post you have made and edit it. Editing can be a simple change, or you can blank the entire post by replacing it with something else. Most members who wish to do that replace it with a single asterisk, so the post reads: *

Only Scott Adams (username admin) can actually delete a post or deregister a user. Send him a PM or email to do this. Deleting your user registration does NOT delete your posts. They remain, and since you are no longer registered you can not edit them. If you go to the bottom of the home page, there is a link to the moderating team. Click it, and then you will see us all and have the option to send a message. Scott is the only one in the adminstrator group at the top of the page.

Any moderator may make a single post invisible, unless it is the starter post for a topic. In that case, any action (including deletion) will not affect just that post, but will delete or render invisible the entire topic. This is the way the board works, and we have to live with it.

You have made almost 200 posts. Suppressing all of them would take a lot of time and effort.

Scott can delete your account if you ask him. But first, I would suggest that you find the posts that you want to have eliminated, and edit them to remove the content. You can use your member profile, and then select "find all posts by this member" to locate them all.

Be aware that search engines such as google can and do cache copies of pages they have scanned, so even if you delete it here, it may still be possible to find it by other means.

Ah yes the good old stalker problem, I have had that very same problem. I thought changing my name would help, LOL nope. It says what your former name was and it will pull it up on google. I have considered starting a new user name, and then remaining completely anonymous.
