Hello ! Has anyone been diagnosed with leaky gut ? My situatiion is because of food allergies that i was diagnosed with two weeks ago. I am allergic to cow's milk, eggs, soy and cain sugar. Wheat was negitive for me but maybe not gluten ? I cut all of these out of my diet just in case. I have bad arthritis in my knees and lupus like symptoms but no spicific disease. Anyone else have this in common? Thanks a lot !!

I am more or less self-diagnosed with leaky gut. Celiac is indeterminate for me but going gluten free helped a lot. Turned out it was only the first step though. I also had to stop dairy, soy, most corn, nightshade vegetables, high oxalate foods (see the nightshade and oxalates thread in this section), and yeast-friendly foods (sugar, alcohol, fermented things, aged cheese, most beef and pork).
I have been sick for about two years after exhaustion from the birth of my son, too many rounds of antibiotics, and a bad case of rotavirus. The cumulative damage to my gut made all the potentially problematic foods problematic for me. Joint pain (hips and fingers) came at the same time as the diarrhea and other gut symptoms. Also anxiety and depression and chronic fatigue-like symptoms.
The diet has taken care of the anxiety and depression. The joint pain is better by about half, as are my guts. My energy is much better most days. Still quite a ways to go, but progress. I found that each time I eliminated a food group, I would increase my intake of other problematic foods and so my gut wasn't getting a chance to heal. Now I think it is, but slowly. I also take a whole bunch of supplements to help the healing (probiotics, amino acids, anti-fungals, etc).
Do you have a sense of how you got sick in the first place?

Don't be surprised that your allergy testing didn't turn up wheat as an allergen. Neither did mine. Remember, Celiac disease is not an allergy, it is an autoimmune disease precipitated by the ingestion of gluten.
