I thought maybe I had found the "key" to my hair loss when I tested positive for gliadin antibodies and researched it's connection to hair loss. Within 24 hours of going gluten-free my skin changed completely i.e. texture and moisture and I lost the inflammation(thankfully). After 10 days I had no pimples, whatsoever for the first time in 3 years! I'm 38...
My hair also got very very soft and baby fine right away... I've had hair loss issues for 3 years going from a full, thick head of what I now consider glorious curls

to my grandmother's whispy, thin and balding fuzz. I have thyroid issues as well... in fact the hair loss started immediately after radiation of thyroid and has never recovered. I'm on 4 grains Armour and 20 mcg T3. BUT, I've developed these strange allergies to environmental chemicals since then and I just can't get a finger on the one thing or things that are causing this...
When I went gluten-free (2 weeks ago), I started losing even more hair, more quickly, but it's soft and shiny now... I even changed to gluten-free shampoo and now it's so soft I can't manage it and have to wear it in a small bun.
Can going gluten-free cause a shedding that could be the storm before the regrowth?? Gosh, I hope so... I'm exhausted with my ever-changing system.
