I always used Kitchen Bouquet when I made beef gravy or stew. It supposedly has trace amounts of gluten per Clan Thompson. Does anyone know of an alternative product or a recipe for a browning & seasoning sauce like Kitchen Bouquet?

Last time I checked Gravy master was gluten free. smile.gif

I have seen this in a few recipes. What is it? Where do I get it? Is it mostly used for gravies?

I use it for gravy and stew. If you make your own gravy, it gives it the extra flavor and coloring that you would get from a jarred sauce or a restaurant gravy (if you could eat the gluten beef gravy). Otherwise, using just the beef broth will give you a very pale and somewhat bland gravy. You can get it at most grocery stores.

And thanks Angie for the Gravy Master tip.

Thanks! I usually just use cornstarch and spices for gravy. I make my own beef and chicken stock, though. So mine is not pale, it's dark because of the onion skins. wink.gif
