I have been gluten-free since November after I was advised I to do the elimination diet and told I had celiac without any actual tests. So okay I do this. Gas, bloating, and constant need to use the restroom disappear. So I'm happier I suppose.
Lately I am starving constantly all the time, never feeling full. I have terrible shoulder and neck pain, I can't sleep, a cough that wont seem to go away, when i do sleep i'm never refreshed, i feel like my head is never clear, I can tell the yeast in my system is out of control. I have a terrible infection and don't know what to do to treat it because Monistat and all that crap seems to contain gluten. PLUS I think if I DO treat it, and i have Candida--then it could make things worse in the long run. I took the long test at Candidafree and my score was almost 200 over the CERTAINLY yeast related number for women..
I've called the Dr. but I don't really trust her and she doesn't always call back. I am going out of town on Thursday and really don't want to be miserable the whole time.
I don't know anything about it in terms of diet or supplements and i don't know where else to ask.
PLEASE offer any advice you have,
Thanks!
Dear tamedandfoxed,
I know exactly how you feel! I took the Candida questionnaire, and had a score of 350!
I knew it would be bad, but I did not expect it to be that bad. However, I had constant courses of antibiotics from birth until I was 17 for frequent Bronchitis. I also had a couple of bouts of pneumonia.
Then, as I got into teen years, I stayed on inhaled steroids for asthma for several years. I finally stopped taking them at 17. That same year, it was discovered I had ovarian cysts causing my anemia and heavy, painful periods. In order to fix that, they put me on birth control. Eventually, it was found the pill did no good, and I was put on the Depo-Provera shot. Having five cysts in less than ten months is bad, and I am afraid now the shot is not working and I may have cysts again.
I have a list of big no-nos for the diet. I need to type them up for someone else. So many things out there are bad for us. There are days it hurts for me to sit down. I have made some headway killing off the yeast by tweaking my diet. I also take two probiotics, Accu-Flora (found at Wal-Greens for $4.99 a package), and FloraStor (a type of yeast that pushes Candida out). The FloraStor is not killed off when you do antibiotics, and it helps shove the Candida out and make room for the Acidophillus, L. Salivarius, and other good flora in the Accu-Flora.
Sincerely,
