My eight year old son was dx celiac and began the gluten-free diet in mid-December. At that time, he was quite thin, rather short, and very pale. The diet has definitely been confirmation of the dx. After very slow growth over the past 3-4 years, he seems to be making up for that in record time. He has gone from wearing size 4-5 pants to a size 7. This morning the size 7 jeans were actually tight around his belly--they fit great last week. He has gained around 10 pounds. It makes sense that he would finally start growing but I would love to hear from others who had a similar experience. Did you child's growth level off after a while?
Josh isn't really fat yet just much bigger than he has before. He has also grown a bit taller. He also has a much healthier complexion. Previoulsy, Josh was rarely ill but looked very pale. Overall, I'm pleased with how he is doing but am a bit concerned that if he doesn't slow down I'll have a tubby fellow on my hands.

Thanks,
Marsha
