It's tour time again (and I haven't unpacked yet from the last time!!!)

This time, we are hitting the above-mentioned cities, and I was hoping some of you experienced Floridians and Florida-visitors might have some recommendations!

I am already google-mapping Whole Foods in every city, but will not have access to fridge or microwave, so I'm pretty much stuck with restaurants, supplemented by Whole Foods bread (I was thinking that I could bring it to someplace like Quizno's and have them build a sandwich for me if I get desperate).

So--what do you recommend???

One suggestion is to locate the Wendy's and Chick-a-fil's along your route.

If you are allowed to bring a small hard sided cooler (6 or 12 can size) it would expand what you can carry with you. I use the hotels ice machines to to refill the ice when I am traveling with an ice chest.

Thanks--unfortunately, it will not be practical to have a cooler--we're traveling by bus, and I will have my carry-on and purse--no room for a cooler on a single bus seat. The best I'll be able to manage is an insulated lunchbag (it can fit in my carry-on).

I also won't have time to find a grocery store everywhere we go, unless it's within a couple of blocks of the hotel.

This is a travel-half-the-day-and-then-play-an-evening-concert-every-day-for-a-week kind of tour--not nearly as glamorous as it sounds, and definitely NOT fun, though I wish it were.

Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A are definitely options I will investigate!

I know Publix is down there and they have a big selection of gluten free food according to some members.

Oh my gosh, there is so much here in Sarasota... please plug in "Sarasota" to the search engine on this site, but, off the top of my head,

My personal/best experience is with a gorgeous 5 star restaurant downtown called Zoria's. Call ahead and talk to the manager... the chef made me a special gluten-free sauce to go with my filet mignon... they were wonderful from start to finish with my meal!

Oh, I forgot, there's a small gluten free bakery on Siesta Key where you could pick up bread and desserts!! You would need to call ahead to place an "order" for the type of bread you want... but they are well worth the trip.

Don't forget the Selva Grill in Sarasota. It is near Zoria's and is one of the best restaurants in the US. They serve Latin American food and there are many things on the menu you can eat. The chef took the time to come and talk to us in person.
