Hello,
I am traveling to New Orleans the last weekend in March. I eat dairy free too. I haven't read a lot of positive info regarding New Orleans restaurants and accommodating the gluten-free diet. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks so much.

I will be there at the beginning of June... gluten-free, dairy-lite.
Also looking for suggestions.
Thanks!

Any restaurant with a real live chef should be able to help you. It's more expensive, of course. Commander's Palace is great and so was Bella Luna. There are many fine restaurants. The Acme Oyster House is more affordable and at least used to fry everything in corn meal. Be sure and ask. And of course, broiled, boiled or steamed seafood is usually a safe bet.
The times I've been to Louisiana I've never had trouble finding somebody who can help. That doesn't mean every place is gluten-free friendly, but many are.
