Hello,

My wife has celiac disease and we live in Boulder, Colorado. We would love to
find other people in the Boulder/Longmont/Denver area that we can meet with to
discuss the trials and tribulations of celiac disease and gluten free diets. Is there anyone
out there that would like to talk? We could host people at our house if people
would like or we could meet a some public place.

Thanks,

Hi Tom:

I live in the Littleton (Chatfield area) and would love to meet/talk with you and your wife. I'm 28, diagnosed at 2, rebelled as a teenager and started eating everything I wanted and now back on the gluten-free diet, struggling to stay on it. Too many symptoms, problems to list....all I can say are completely related to Celiac.

Tammy,

I just found that there is a chapter of the CSA (Celiac Sprue Association) in Denver.
Their web site is:

CSA - Denver Chapter
(http://www.geocities.com/csadenver17/)

Normally we probably would not drive from Boulder to their meetings as I found that
there is a Boulder sub-group of this chapter that meets occassionally up here. However,
this Saturday (Feb 28, 2004) they are having a guest speaker and we are planning
to go to that meeting to just meet people (a number of people from the Boulder
group are going and we are going to try to carpool with some of them to meet
them also).

Here are the meeting details for Saturday:

Saturday, February 28, 2004
9:30 am Refreshments, 10:00 am Presentation
St. Luke's Methodist Church
8817 South Broadway, Highlands Ranch, CO
(4 blocks south of C-470, west side of Broadway)

If you can make it Saturday, we would love to meet you. I will be wearing shorts
and will have our four year old daughter with me. If you can't make that time and
would still like to meet up with us specifically, let me know and we can arrange
something else.

We live in Boulder. My two sons and I have been fairly recently diagnosed. I am planning on attending the meeting in Highlands Ranch on Sat-the 28th, unless we have another rough night tonight sad.gif . My 3 kids and my husband have all been sick with a nasty virus. My two boys and I are fine now, so we will just come probably, although I would love for my husband to come too.
I will be the very tired looking mom with two 7 yr old red headed boys, and maybe my 7 yr old daughter also.
I know this is a long shot, but anyone else out there in the Denver/Boulder metro areas with triplets also ?
I would love to get together with others in the North metro area, and have been thinking about starting a pot luck group with a few friends who are pretty new to the whole gluten free experience rolleyes.gif

PF Changs at Flatirons Crossing has a gluten free menu ! My kids and I were SO excited to find that out. That might be a good place to meet some time. My family will be attending the meeting today in Highlands Ranch, maybe we will meet you there.

Lorraine,

We ended up not being able to make it to the Highlands Ranch
meeting. However, we would love to meet you all. We have
a four year old daughter and my 8 and 10 year old nephews
live just down the street. We live in South Boulder just
behind the King Soopers at Table Mesa and Broadway.

Please send me an e-mail or give us a call so that we can
set up a time and place for our families to get together.
We usually eat at Souper Salad on Sundays and would it would
be great if you all could meet us there sometime.

Introduction To the gluten-free Diet and Celiac Disease, presented by Diane Moyer, M.S., R.D., C.D.E

Have you been told to follow a gluten-free diet? Maybe you were diagnosed with celiac disease or wish to try it for MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, autism, chronic fatigue or some other health issue. Do all these changes seem confusing or overwhelming?

Start to make sense out of all this chaos with this 2 1/2 hour class. An introduction to the gluten-free diet and a basic explanation of celiac disease will be presented. "Safe" foods, "unsafe" foods, what to look for on food labels, how to stock your kitchen, eating out and more will be discussed. Bring all your questions.

Cost for the class is $40.00. The fee includes a copy of the gluten-free Products List published by the Denver Metro Chapter of CSA-USA.

Call 720-560-3734 for dates and times of classes.

I live in Fort Collins and attend a support group every other month. It took me awhile to be happy with it (long story). I think the group is through the CSA? It is the "celiacs helping celiacs" people smile.gif I just realized I missed the July meeting mad.gif The next meeting will be in September.
